Another poem, but I think you’ll like it.
Not really slash, but it definitely is implied.
Starsky and Hutch were involved in a fight,
When conversing, it was only by growl.
But both were determined they were in the right
And neither would throw in the towel.
When asked what started the argument,
Each one of them would defer.
A blonde policewoman was the rumor,
But none of us knew for sure.
In time the anger died out and
They each missed the other a lot,
But pride is a powerful emotion
And neither found the courage he sought.
Someone suggested a contest,
A wrestling match was discussed.
Briefly they talked it over
And each agreed it was just.
The terms were very simple,
The winner got to choose his prize.
The contest was over when one man was down
And wasn’t allowed to rise.
Hutch was heavily favored
With his size and his grasp of the sport.
We knew that Starsky was tough,
But in the long run, we thought he’d fall short.
It started out fairly even
Each man gave it his best.
But neither could pin the other,
The prize from his partner to wrest.
It seemed to go on forever
And both were beginning to tire.
Thirty minutes had been agreed upon,
And it was coming down to the wire.
Hutch suddenly made a wrong move,
His partner needed only one.
Starsky flipped him to the ground
And with a knee in the back, it was done.
It was said that Starsky tried harder,
He had a hidden agenda, it seems.
And that Hutch felt a need for atonement
And in the end, handed Starsky his dreams.
Hutch grinned, “You won fair and square.
What do I have that you lack?
My money, my car….anything’ s fair.
Your friendship is all I want back.”
Starsky looked at his partner and smiled.
“Not your car, for sure…or your dough.
What I want requires some discussion,
But I think you already know.”
They both went home to hash it out,
No one knows what they had to say.
But it was noted by everyone
That neither came to work the next day.
Now the pair is closer than ever
And the speculation runs wild
That they’ve become much closer than partners,
Since their problems they’ve reconciled.
Only they can know the answer.
Someone questions them once in awhile.
Their eyes always meet across the room
And they just exchange a big smile…dararose
