A Space Too Big

I forgot how big of a space it was to fill especially when you’re not here…..

I miss you. I wish you were here because this place is too big for just one, for just me. Funny It never seemed like that , big I mean, when you were here. When you shared this heart with me it always felt full and at times even a little over crowded. But I didn’t complain, not that much anyway.

Did you know we shared this heart once? It was ours together, every experience our heart could possibly share and so much more than that.

It’s ok if you don’t, because I remember, and I can tell you how it was. I can remind you how it was our treasure, and we cherished it with our lives.

It was a wonderful place once, this heart of ours; it protected us and carried us through our greatest pain. It gave us the strength to endured all the struggles and evil we faced, and when we came out on the other side we celebrated the victory together.

It had a name too. Do you know the name? It’s ok if you don’t, because I remember it well. Its name was Me & Thee.

No one understood what that was. Oh, they tried to define it, tried to put it in a box that just anybody could grab hold of and take with them. But we knew it was not that easy. We understood it was not for everyone.

We were the lucky ones though; we discovered what it was all about. We were able to find what people search their whole life for but never truly see it. But we did, we saw it every day even when we took for granted what we had, when we forgot to share and to love, our heart never did, and in those times it would reminded us and bring us back.

What a beautiful thing this heart was. I remember it well; at least I thought I did. You see, I have forgotten one thing. I forgot how big of a space it was to fill, especially when you’re not here.
