Poetry. Theme: Tired. Alternating POV.
Written for the monthly prompt on SHFAFF: Tired.
I’m worn out by the job we do
Tired of the never-ending view
Of inhumanity and greed
The wickedness in every deed
The battered souls, the bruised
×××
I see you’re tired and worn out
I know fatigue will make you doubt
That anything we do will aid
Or smallest difference it will make
But, pal, it does. Don’t doubt
×××
I may be tired but I still know
The difference in this world is you
I’ll keep on on this crazy ride
As long as you are by my side
And follow where you go
×××
Get some rest, a change of scene
Recharge your heart, dream happy dreams
Tomorrow, we won’t fail to meet
The challenges out on the street
Because of this – we’re ‘me and thee’
