“Join me in the library. Now.” Hutch’s tone was commanding; the words clipped.
The Hutchinsons Christmas party was in full swing, but there was no cheer or Christmas spirit in Hutch’s body language. Tense energy radiated off him in waves, a coiled snake ready to strike.
He turned towards the library, not bothering to check if Starsky followed. Starsky gave it a few seconds before moving at his own pace and strutting into the room, full of stylish swagger and graceful strength. Hutch closed the door behind him, using more force than necessary.
“Will you stop flirting with my cousin?” Hutch growled, getting into Starsky’s personal space.
Starsky’s lips twitched. “Which one, Cassie or Carter?”
“Both of them!” Hutch’s eyes flashed—identical flames that could burn the world to cinders.
“You want me to be unfair to the twins?” He pretended to think. “Don’t worry, Blondie, there’s plenty of me to go around.”
Hutch snarled, the sound of an untamed, wild beast. He advanced, forcing Starsky to walk backwards until his ass hit one of the bookshelves.
“Stop acting like a bitch in heat!”
“Why? It worked like a charm, didn’t it? I now have your complete and undivided attention.” Starsky’s voice was a velvet purr. His fingers touched Hutch’s neck; lighter than the wings of a butterfly, they ran down to his chest, making a detour to caress a nipple through the thin fabric of Hutch’s shirt. The caress becane a gentle pinch. “And you still don’t have the slightest idea how beautiful your eyes are when you’re angry.”
Hutch shuddered, his breath shaking. “You drive me insane! “
“Good. That’s how I like you best.” Starsky whispered, and Hutch’s reply was lost in a kiss as deep as the ocean.
