INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Venice Place Press, Special Edition!

It gives me particular pleasure to welcome you to this zine. I last published Sue and Val in 2004—eight long years ago. Honestly, as the years went by, I thought that was probably going to be it, so you can imagine my delight when my very dear friend Sue told me this past year that she was back in Bay City again! Sue came back with a vengeance, writing a wonderful Big Bang story and some lovely short pieces now housed on the S&H archive. Once I knew I was going to do zines for SHarecon I knew I had to have Sue on board with me. Then, as luck would have it, she grabbed her old writing partner Valerie on board for another spin. The results are two lovely stories by two wonderful writers. I thank them both for celebrating their love for Starsky and Hutch in their writing, and allowing me to publish them again.

We don’t have nearly enough new Starsky and Hutch gen stories in my opinion, so that makes these stories even more special to me.

I’d also like to give my huge thanks and admiration to the wonderful Suzan Lovett who not only designed and created the cover, but she helped me figure out how to title it. And finally, I want to thank you, the reader, for buying this zine. I hope you enjoy it!

Bay City is a great place to be! I’ve missed the writing and was delighted when Keri wanted to publish this zine. Thank you, Keri, for being so supportive and for making me feel like I never took a break from writing. I love you, my heart sister!

I was thrilled when Suzan Lovett came on board. Thank you, Suzan! I have long admired your work and the cover ail for this zine is more beautiful than I could have imagined.

Val, thanks so much for taking another turn in the Torino with me! You rock, pard. Love ya!

I also want to thank the readers. I hope you enjoy this zine as much as I’ve enjoyed working on it. Knowing that somewhere a fan is reading and enjoying my work is humbling and affirming. Thank you!

I would be remiss if I did not thank my number one fan, my loving and supportive husband. Dennis, you are the best! Your willingness to share my time with the boys and the fandom means so much to me. Thank you for just being you. I love you so much. Me and Thee, babe!
