Introduction

NOTES FROM THE BAY CITY BLOTTER

The fiery red Torino fishtailed to a halt in front of….

Barely Legal, the first Starsky & Hutch zine from Light & Shadow Press Welcome! We have a multitude of remarkably talented women who very kindly contributed their best for us, so without further ado, let’s introduce them. Leading off is Lorraine. This talented and generous artist gifted us with a beautiful color cover of our guys and we appreciate all the hard work she put into this project under difficult real life circumstances. She’s not only a terrific, talented artist, but a lovely, generous woman.

Now for our writers! First, we have the lovely Cyanne, who has tribbed an emotional story, one that is both devastating, but heartening, too. This is the first time that Cyanne has contributed to L&S and we hope to work with her often in the future.

Glow‘s hysterically funny story, “Talking Dirty Movies,” is next in the lineup. For those of you who have read the previous installments in this series, you will not be disappointed. But be warned—your friends will think you’re ill when you’re gasping for breath because you’re laughing so hard.

If you need a break from laughter, turn to “Clothes Make the Man,” a taut, dark thriller by Chimera (and yes, that is the three-headed dragon). As Starsky and Hutch grapple with-their changing relationship, an undercover assignment could break them apart for good.

For those of you who have never had the fortune of reading “Canario,” by Kath Moonshine, first published in Cross the Line, you are in for one hell of a treat. This story has been re-edited and expanded and will have you snorting your soda out your nose or your money back. (Kidding; it’s funny, but no money.) Once you’ve sopped up the soda, you’ll be ready to continue on to “Return of the Killer Tomato.” This long-awaited sequel to “Canario” picks up right where the first story left off. Hold on to your socks; alternately sexy and hilarious, it is a read not to be missed.

Next up is Tiger Tyger‘s “Planes, Trains & Torinos,” the continuation of the novella “I Remember L.A.” first published in When Lightning Strikes. It takes up immediately where she left our heroes: After the first shock of being together again, how can they pick up the pieces of their lives following a separation of five long years? We’re hoping this will be just the first of many sequels in this universe, so let us know what you think. Just don’t get too close to the Tyger’s cage. She bites (which isn’t always a bad thing.)

A Bottle of Beer, a Can of Shaving Cream, and Thee,” is another sweet, sexy and sensual story from the prolific pen of Kath Moonshine. Originally published in Bound & Determined, those of you who might have caught it in the Multi-media zine, will still thrill to this tale as it has been re-edited and expanded for your reading pleasure.

Dealing with the big 5-0, our boys are helped along by Emrys, in her Bay City Five-O, an alternately sweet and hot vignette that will leave you wishing for more.

Enjoy!

Glow, Tiger Tyger, & Kath
