Starsky and Hutch spend a quiet evening at home with some surprises.
It was so simple really, perhaps too simple, easy to overlook and ignore.
No “rockets bursting in air” to draw ones attention. No “like being hit-by-a-Mac-truck” syndrome to shut one off from all other stimuli.
No, this was a subtle curiously familiar and comfortable acknowledgement of what was.
A look shared in the glow of an at home evening, a gentle nod at a truth that had escaped detection for far too long.
Warm welcoming sighs as arms reached to embrace, and then to snuggle in contentment. Hands and lips periodically soothed suddenly racing libidos, reducing fire to a soft ember.
Time held no meaning as night made its way to dawn, and still they lay sheltered in each other’s arms.
The suns bright warning of day drew them apart and in complete synchronized harmony they prepared to face it. Shared looks and touches emphasized unspoken promises, for silence had been their companion throughout the night, empathy sparking between them like shouted words of passion.
A smooth transition from dearest friend and brother to eternal lover. Ah the sweetness of a forever need met and greeted by an equally desperate yearning.
Was there anything more beautiful, or desired, than two souls wrapped in grace and love’s warm cloak. For though love spawns passion, it also offers a safe harbour that guarantees tenderness, hope and a home for the battered soul.
Is it any wonder they were struck dumb in this newly found world without shadows? Time was no longer their enemy and their confidence demanded no tokens of trust or faith.
A grin, and a giggle escaped as Hutch questioned where his brain had been all this time. But the spring in his step made it all too clear that he really didn’t care.
