A little scene that came to mind for the prompt: it wasn’t me!
Attempt at humour!
Starsky whistled as he poured out two coffees. It was the start of a new week and the weekend had been full of fun. He was in a great mood. He started pouring sugar from the glass jar, only to watch in horror as the lid fell off and a river of granules fell into his cup before he could think to stop pouring.
“Hey!”
He glared at Hutch, letting his irritation bore into his partner.
“Hey it wasn’t me!” Hutch protested.
Starsky grimaced as he poured his coffee away, tightened the lid on the sugar dispenser and then poured a fresh mug. He handed Hutch his coffee, still not sure if he believed in his partner’s innocence, and sat down at his desk.
“Hey,” he said, his good mood returning, “any of those cookies left that Mrs Whats-her-name gave us?”
Hutch nodded and absent-mindedly opened the drawer, only to jump back as a coiled, spring-loaded monster popped up violently. Hutch nearly dropped his coffee. He glared at his partner.
“Hey, don’t look at me! I didn’t do it!”
They both stared at each other and then said, “Minnie!”
Inside his office, Dobey hid a chuckle. It was about time he’d got his own back on the two pranksters also known as his best detectives!
