Written as a little thank you to the wonderful people who organised SHareCon for us all to enjoy.

“Say, Starsk, do you remember a time before we had the internet?”

“Sure I do! In fact, it constantly bugs me how I can remember what I was doin’ forty years ago but I can’t remember where I just left my glasses!”

“Well that’s just age. What I mean is, did we really have to work things out for ourselves rather than just Google ‘em and wasn’t it kinda better that way?”

“Well that’s just nostalgia! Sure, they were simpler times, but would I give up the ability to have a new pack’a shorts delivered to my door within twenty-four hours, no the hell I wouldn’t!”

“I could say that’s just shopping, though way you go through shorts, I suppose I can see the advantages…”

“We can’t bring back the past, Hutch, nobody can, we can only embrace the future. Besides, if it wasn’t for the internet, would ancient relics like us, be lookin’ forward to spending a great weekend with friends all ova’ the world from the comfort of our own home?”

“No, you’re right, I guess we really wouldn’t, partner.”

Hutch was thoughtful for a moment and smiled to himself before quietly speaking again.

“There’s one thing however, the digital age just can’t compare to…”

“Oh yeah, what’s that?”

“My memory of the times you used to run around without any shorts…”

“Oh, go commando you mean? Well, Hutch, my sweet darlin’, you know you only eva’ have to ask…”
