Quiet Time Dream

Hutch thinks about his dreams.

It’s been a long time since I have thought about my dreams. Every day I live my dream and there has been no need.

I wake in the morning wrapped around my dream of love, security and home. I look into eyes that reflect every hope and dream I ever had. My deepest longings have been fulfilled and are a thing of the past.

My dream of being someone, of being the best man I could be have become a reality through the faith and truth of another. Every day I leave our home with my hope and heart at my side.

There are few clouds in my sky to obscure my view of heaven. There is a power at work here that acknowledges the special bond and protects it, that wraps a shield around my dream as guardian and interpreter.

From dawn ’til dusk I walk with a rainbow on my shoulder and listen to the soft chuckling voice of my dream. Often that dream appears as devil or imp, but there is no disguising that smile of delight, or taunting grin.

Others enter my dream and are welcomed in tandem, for there is no separation from my dream. Memories will often stir shades that come in the night to shake my dream world, but they are easily beaten back and defeated by the soft caress and gentle touch of my personal dream-maker.

I often wonder if I’m really of this world anymore. Maybe I slipped into an alternate world somehow where every dream I ever had was wrapped up and packaged in one irrepressible, bouncy, lovable kid who keeps me young and still dreaming.

For, I do still dream, in a way. I dream of a long, long life together; I dream of more ways to create and keep the happiness and joy; I dream of coming days spent only with each other, of pleasuring and pleasing each other in serenity and sweetness.

The world we live in has changed, but sometimes I feel only the cover has changed, the book remains the same only uglier. Change doesn’t seem to work its way down to the sewers very quickly, if at all.

But my rainbow and sun still light my way, even in the dead of night, shining out of two blue orbs. I wonder if anyone else has noticed that sunlight is blue?

Nothing lasts forever, but I know my dream is a part of infinity and will continue.

Maybe somehow I can work out a way to share my dream and pass it on. I like the thought of being able to do that.
