Hutch had only one question for the fortune teller…
A short filler from the 2006 SHareCon Zine.
“It doesn’t matter what I want to tell you, what do you want to know?”
Hutch considered the question.
Forget the absurdity of what the woman was claiming, the ridiculousness of even listening to her spiel, the space/time paradox Starsky was grappling with, what did he want to know about the future? What one supreme, overarching piece of knowledge was worth knowing? He looked directly into Starsky’s eyes, saw the trust, and confidence, and yes, love, that met his gaze, and knew the only one question that mattered.
“Do we make it through together?”
“Yes.”
Starsky smiled. Hutch smiled back.
