“Gopher,” Paul teased over the phone.
“Shut up,” David warned.
“Gopher, gopher.”
“I’m hanging up.”
“Come on, do it for me,” Paul whined.
“I hate you.”
“No you don’t, you love me. Now please, for me?”
David sighed. “Sally sells seashells by the seashore.”
Paul’s laughter filled the distance between them.
“I still hate you.”
“I love you too, Gopher.”
