According to fans who lived in the area, many people came to gawk at the little yellow bungalow on the Venice Canals that was used for Hutch’s first season house. Soon after the show went off the air, the owner renovated it, putting on a second story and changing the color to discourage tourists. Over the years, the location of the house was lost, and some fans believed it resided in the area of Venice that had been paved over. If you study the structure of the yellow bungalow, this house, of all the houses in Venice, matches best the placement of the front door and porch overhang. We’re pretty sure this was the house originally used for Hutch’s canal-side home. Almost all the Venice Canal houses are worth millions now, and there are no empty lots as there were when Hutch lived there. Many of the houses are architectural wonders, and the landscaping in the area is magnificent. However, if you spend some time wandering, you can still find little un-remodeled houses of the show’s era. They are few and far between, but some are still there.
