A visit to one of Starsky & Hutch’s locations.

This is the building used as the exterior for Starsky’s apartment in Season One. In the episode Running, we see Hutch approach it at night carrying clothes Abby provided for Sharon. It appeared in other episodes as well, sometimes with the Torino parked out front. The house is located at the bottom of a steep hill. Turning around on it to leave the street was a challenge. I took the picture in 2013, while visiting L.A. for the Surcon event.
You can see two staircases, one on either side of the building. By going around the back of another house, we could see that the building actually has two very small apartments, and that the two staircases each lead to a different apartment. The building is small enough that we had assumed it was just one apartment with two exits. But it’s actually a small duplex. With a three-car garage. Because this is California!
