home, homing.
like a healthy
muscle we exercised
all night
measuring
ourselves against
one another.
that half-second
before the plunge,
our memoirs might
have said:
a stern story but
love wins!

making you worry.
you’re my
favorite-
got it yet?
your child-face
is all that matters.
don’t stir.
be sleeping,
be sleeping now.
in the morning you’ll
