Starsky POV
Changing, purple, red, gold, blue,
Every color of the spectrum
No need to seek a finer view.
I see it all, as you grace the room.
Dancing in the setting sunlight
Incandescent as a golden flame.
Flitting now in excited flight
Drawing me into your enticing game.
Match the candles, I’ll be your moth
Watching the unveiling of your smile,
Hovering expectantly above the tablecloth.
Settling, wings folded in peace for a while.
Completely satiated, your wine I sip.
The candlelight falters, you turn your face.
I yearn to taste the changing colors on your lips,
But the moment vanishes without a trace.
The night closes in, we embrace goodbye.
Enfolded in your arms, I linger too long.
Changing colors of sunsets away will fly,
But your beautiful love is a constant song.
